Peripheral nerve tumors can appear along nerves throughout the body and may cause a growing mass, pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness. Evaluation considers the tumor’s location, imaging characteristics, symptoms, and relationship to the functioning nerve fibers.

Not every peripheral nerve tumor requires the same treatment. The plan may involve observation, additional testing, or surgery, with recommendations shaped around the individual tumor and the importance of preserving nerve function.
