Neuro-Oncological Tumor Board

A dedicated forum for thoughtful, multidisciplinary review of complex neuro-oncological cases.

The region’s first neuro-oncological tumor board brings specialists together to review complex cases and consider the diagnosis from multiple clinical perspectives. Imaging, pathology, treatment history, and the patient’s circumstances can all inform the discussion.

This collaborative process is designed to support a coordinated recommendation rather than a series of disconnected opinions. The resulting plan can help patients and referring physicians understand the available options and the reasoning behind the next step.

Collaborative Care

Connected care that brings the right clinical perspectives into one coordinated plan.

Complex neurological conditions often cross the boundaries of a single specialty. Collaborative care creates a way for neurosurgery to work alongside neurology, oncology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, and other disciplines as the diagnosis requires.

When a case benefits from additional perspective, the team can also coordinate with local, regional, and national leaders. The purpose is to make communication clearer and keep recommendations centered on the individual patient.

Personalized Care Plans

Recommendations shaped around each patient’s diagnosis, goals, and circumstances.

A diagnosis is only one part of a treatment decision. Symptoms, imaging, neurological function, overall health, personal priorities, and the likely benefits and tradeoffs of each option all help shape a meaningful recommendation.

Personalized care planning brings those factors together in a clear path forward. Patients are given space to ask questions, understand their options, and know what to expect from evaluation through follow-up.

Weekly Meetings

Regular multidisciplinary review that supports timely discussion and continuity across specialties.

Consistent case review helps specialists share updates, compare perspectives, and address questions without losing momentum. Weekly meetings provide a regular rhythm for discussing complex cases and aligning the clinicians involved in care.

That continuity supports more coordinated recommendations and clearer follow-through. As new imaging, pathology, or clinical information becomes available, it can be considered within the larger treatment plan.
